Youth EchoWelcome to Youth Echo Youth Echo is a three-year programme funded by the City Bridge Foundation through the Propel Grant, designed to put young people at the heart of change in Haringey. The programme aims to empower young people to lead system change actions to tackle roots causes of racial inequity and interrelated poverty and violence through targeted actions Working in partnership with North London Partnership Consortium and the Godwin Lawson Foundation, Youth Echo amplifies the voices of young people from Black and Minority Ethnic communities, supporting them to influence the systems and services that shape their lives. From health and education to employment and community safety, we create spaces where young people are not just heard, but actively shape solutions. Through social action projects, mentoring, and pathways into employment, we equip young people with the skills, confidence, and opportunities to lead. The result is a growing movement of empowered young people driving meaningful change across their communities; their voices are not only valued, but impossible to ignore. "I feel Youth Echo is an amazing approach in Haringey and one that is very unique in terms of how young people can be referred and offered support. I have found the team extremely kind, open, and transparent about what the goals are... Your team listens to the real concerns of young people in the community."  Funded by Home Why the Programme is needed? Haringey Youth Organisation Network Members Hub Programme Impact Haringey Youth Organisation Network Launch 23 April Bridge Renewal Trust launched Youth Echo's Haringey Youth Organisations Network (HYON) at the Trampery. Youth Echo is delivered in partnership with North London Partnership Consortium (NLPC) and Godwin Lawson Foundation. The programme addresses social inequalities in young people's access to education, health services, and employability, by empowering and amplifying young people's voices and promoting social mobility through social action initiatives. HYON was born in response to youth organisations in Haringey sharing their need for better support with funding opportunities, improving youth engagement and developing more robust processes and governance. Inspired by the successful models of Lambeth Made, Hackney Young Futures Commission, and Manchester Youth Network, HYON aims to connect Haringey Youth organisations, strengthen their collective voice, and offer support, training, and visibility to groups to bring about impactful change for young people living in Haringey. There was much anticipation for the launch, with over 50 different Haringey youth organisations present and representatives from statutory services, including the Council, national organisations, and passionate individuals, all who share in the vision for the network of improving the lives of young people in Haringey. Camila Pedraza, the programme's Partnerships & Development Lead (pictured), spoke passionately about the initiative's inspiration and bold vision for the network, which will bring youth organisations together to collaborate, learn, and amplify their impact. The audience heard from PC Eyahia Ahmed of the Metropolitan Police, who shared how the project improved relations by facilitating police engagement with organisations serving young people. Krissy Simms, CEO of The DJ and MC Academy, also shared a powerful testimony of how Youth Echo’s training offer helped her secure funding for the first time in over a decade of running youth programmes! The evening concluded with organisations exchanging contacts, sharing ideas, and laying the groundwork for future partnerships. "It was good to see the energy galvanised in the room and willingness to collaborate across differing needs and perspectives. I left invigorated and full of energy just from feeding off the atmosphere and buzz! You and your team are fantastic." Guy Latham, Haringey Council Together, we're building something that can genuinely transform the youth landscape in Haringey — one connection at a time.
