Thank you to our Funders

Over the years, we have delivered many different projects helping to build a healthier, stronger and safer Haringey, so we thought we'd take a moment to celebrate the funders who have helped make this happen:

We've built a healthier Haringey:

Grow It, Cook It Project

Through generous funding from the City Bridge Foundation, we supported 50 families to increase their knowledge of gardening skills and improve their well-being. 59 families learnt how to cook healthy, nutritious meals for their families through our cooking classes. 50 families increased their well-being through attending our well-being activities.

"It is a nice space to spend time with the kids and get out on Saturdays to do gardening. You feel like a family, and it is good to see all your friends back every week."

40-year-old single mum

Together with the North Central London Integrated Care Board,  over the years, we've delivered:

MMR Community Champions Project

Working with five local grassroots organisations to break down barriers to health inequalities around MMR vaccine take-up among different communities.

Research Engagement Network

Improving knowledge around heart health and cancer, reaching 5662 people about cancer screening and increasing awareness and understanding of the power and importance of research.

"We spoke to 14 parents/ carers abut the MMR vaccine. As a consensus parents were saying there are too many doses all at once they believe are causing doses all at once they believe are causing neurological issues in babies and it should be prolonged to 2-3 years."

MMR Community Champion

In partnership with Haringey Council, we've delivered:

Home from Hospital

Supporting 500 people to feel less alone, supported and return home safely after being in hospital

"It has been a lifeline… They phoned regularly, checked on me, and helped with shopping. I felt someone cared."

Home from Hospital patient

Healthy Hearts: Resident Providers Fund

Partnering with 23 trusted residents to increase engagement with healthy lifestyle services, improving the heart health of 452 people in the borough.

"We’ve all bonded in a special way on our weekly walks. Staying healthy does not have to be a solitary act."

Resident Provider participant

Community Protect

worked together with trusted community voices from grassroots organisations to understand and tackle barriers around COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy. Providing information and advice to residents.

Healthy Neighbourhoods: Co-Production Project

Working with nine Grassroots Organisations to raise awareness among 442 residents about health conditions through co-delivering workshops with local health services, helping to improve the ways services work with grassroots organisations when it comes to service design and enhancing partnerships.

"It's not just about putting things in different languages, having people on the ground that can give them the information and explain what the information means to that individual person is really important."
Community Protect Champion

Through six years of funding from the National Lottery, we delivered

Health@theHut

  • Supporting 1,648 residents to take part in physical activity sessions

  • Supporting 309 older adults to take part in regular yoga and chair-based movement sessions - with 87% reporting improved mobility and 74% saying they felt less lonely

  • Supporting 552 children and young people, to take part in sports sessions, helping them to become fitter and stronger

  • Supporting 1410 local families to learn to cook healthy food on a budget.

"My GP referred me to join the chair-based fitness sessions because I have high blood pressure and I am overweight. The classes have helped me to get more active and lose a bit of weight”.

55-year-old male participant

Tottenham Talking

Over the last four years, with funding from the North London NHS Foundation Trust, we we have helped to improve the mental well-being of 500 people every year

ABC Parents

In partnership with North Middlesex NHS Trust and North London Integrated Care Board, we've supported over 800 parents every year to learn first aid, equipping them with the skills and knowledge to care for their sick children and reducing unnecessary A&E admissions.

"I am grateful for the course, and I believe this is absolutely essential for all parents. Thank you. "

Care Navigators

In partnership with GP Federation, we have provided a team of Care Navigators around frailty as part of the pioneering Multi Agency Care and Coordination Team and Diabetes Service, improving joined-up care provision for residents across the borough.

Foot Care

Thanks to the Mercers Company, we delivered a mobile foot care service to 675 old people across twelve different sheltered accommodation venues, bringing healthcare to the community of people who struggle to access it.

Community Cafe

Through our weekly Community Cafe, kindly funded by the National Lottery: Awards For All scheme, we have provided 2,100 people annually with healthy and affordable meals, improving nutritional status and reducing isolation among families and reducing the cost of living.

We've built a stronger Haringey through :

Improving Food Security

Through one-year funding Food Roots 2 from the Greater London Assembly, we've helped to improve food security in the borough through strengthening partnerships and introducing a data framework to implement better joined-up wrap-around support for people living in food poverty.

Debt Advice Workshops

Through generous funding by the Money Saving Expert, we've helped Haringey residents to be more financially secure and also improve their mental well-being.

Capacity Building

Together with Haringey Council, between 2015 and 2024, we delivered the Strategic Partner Service, leveraging over £16 million into the borough, helping strengthen and build the capacity of local voluntary and community sector groups in Haringey.

Youth Echo

Through the City Bridge Foundation Propel Grant, we've helped amplify the voices of young people for change across four areas: health, safety, education and employment, reaching  2100 young people, and helping to build the capacity of 45 local youth organisations.

We've built a safer Haringey:

Home Cooked Consortium

With the generous support of the Mayor of London's Violence Reduction Unit, we've worked together to make Haringey safer, through our Home Cooked Programme tackling youth violence by providing 1627 young people with access to mental health support, employment and sports opportunities in Tottenham Hale and Northumberland Park.

Safer Neighbourhood Board

In partnership with Haringey Council, we've delivered the Safer Neighbourhood Board awarding annual funding of £19,055 to local organisations that are helping to improve safety in Haringey.

Our Services

"The Bridge Renewal Trust has provided a pillar of support to local charities across Haringey, empowering communities to flourish and grow through increasingly difficult times. The Trust offers invaluable hope, support and empowerment. I have no doubt the next 10 years will be just as successful.”

Rt Hon David Lammy, MP for Tottenham

Thank you so much to our funders:
