Youth EchoWelcome to Youth Echo Youth Echo is a three-year programme funded by the City Bridge Foundation through the Propel Grant, designed to put young people at the heart of change in Haringey. The programme aims to empower young people to lead system change actions to tackle roots causes of racial inequity and interrelated poverty and violence through targeted actions Working in partnership with North London Partnership Consortium and the Godwin Lawson Foundation, Youth Echo amplifies the voices of young people from Black and Minority Ethnic communities, supporting them to influence the systems and services that shape their lives. From health and education to employment and community safety, we create spaces where young people are not just heard, but actively shape solutions. Through social action projects, mentoring, and pathways into employment, we equip young people with the skills, confidence, and opportunities to lead. The result is a growing movement of empowered young people driving meaningful change across their communities; their voices are not only valued, but impossible to ignore. "I feel Youth Echo is an amazing approach in Haringey and one that is very unique in terms of how young people can be referred and offered support. I have found the team extremely kind, open, and transparent about what the goals are... Your team listens to the real concerns of young people in the community." Haringey Youth Organisation Network Members Hub Programme Impact Youth Echo Programme Celebrates Two Years As we close the second year of the Youth Echo Programme, we are proud to share the impact we have made together with young people and partners across Haringey. Over the past year, we have engaged with 378 young people through 80 social action initiatives and campaigns, tackling issues that matter most to them: diversity and inclusion in the workplace, mental health first aid for young people, leadership and public speaking, youth and community relations with the police, and the creation of safe spaces in schools. A key highlight of the year has been the launch and growth of the Haringey Youth Organisations Network (HYON), which now has 40 member organisations. HYON is playing a vital role in building a stronger, better-connected, and more sustainable youth sector in Haringey. We are especially proud that HYON has been chosen by the North London NHS Foundation Trust to represent Haringey at the North East London Youth Health Board, ensuring that young people's voices from our borough are heard at a regional level when it comes to health issues they face. Looking ahead to 2025–2026, Youth Echo will continue to amplify youth voices through social action initiatives, leadership development, and collaborative partnerships. We are keen to invite colleagues across the borough to refer young people to us and our partners, so together we can create even greater opportunities for young people in Haringey and welcome more organisations into HYON. If you would like to get involved, join HYON, or refer young people to the programme, please get in touch – we would love to hear from you.
