Which areas in Haringey are at risk

Expand

The Mayor of London developed an interactive map that showcase the areas more at risk to climate change impacts, including flooding and extreme heat. In Haringey, the risk coincides with the more deprived areas in the east side of the borough. You can use this tool to check the risks in your area, and there are some useful information that you can use to help to plan and raise awareness of risks in your community:

What to consider when sharing a message

Expand

During emergencies, you may receive information from different government departments, emergency services, and community partners. You can help residents to better navigate the wealth of resources available by organising information and directing them to the most up-to-date and relevant source.

Important to note that misinformation can be easily spread. This can happen for many reasons, including information becoming quickly outdated, or unconfirmed messages passing by word-of mouth. If you want to help by spreading helpful messages to your community, always share up-to-date information from official sources, such as the channels suggested here

Haringey Council Racial Equity Group

Expand

Our Chief Executive, Geoffrey Ocen and Haringey Council CEO co-founded and co-chaired this group.

This group is shaping the collective efforts of key agencies and community partners in our work to challenge and dismantle the systems, structures, and behaviours that perpetuate racism.

Our Chief Executive was instrumental in developing a borough-wide Racial Equity Action Plan adopted by the Council, NHS, and VCS, placing the social determinants of health and amplifying the voices of racially marginalised communities at the heart of collective action.
