We are delighted to announce that the Bridge has a new Chair of the Board of Trustees. Michele Eastmond brings a wealth of experience across both the private and charitable sectors, with a career that has included roles as a Transport Planner, in finance at the Barbados Stock Exchange, and at Waltham Forest Community Transport.

Alongside this breadth of experience, Michele offers strong expertise in business development, finance, and fundraising, which will be invaluable as we continue to grow and strengthen our impact.

During her childhood in Barbados, she witnessed her family giving back to their community — an example that sparked her lifelong desire to make a difference. That early inspiration has shaped a career defined not only by professional expertise but by a genuine dedication to helping people and strengthening communities:

"I was constantly surrounded by acts of kindness, compassionate thoughts and goodwill for your neighbours and community by my grandparents, parents and most of my aunts, uncles, and members of my immediate community. It was a way of life: my grandmother preparing extra portions of breakfast, lunch and dinner for neighbours and their children, sharing the harvests of homegrown crops, and welcoming and offering support in any way.
Here I am, 8 years later, still passionate and committed to supporting the amazing work the Bridge does for the community, and eagerly anticipating my first year as Chair. "

We look forward to working with Michele to continue our mission of reducing health inequalities in Haringey and building stronger, healthier and safer communities.
