At The Haringey Community Food Network's Annual General Meeting, Alice Igoe, Project Coordinator, presented about the work she has been doing to address food poverty as part of the Food Roots:2 Project.

In her speech, Alice introduced two key tools that have been in development over the past year—the Data Framework and the Information, Advice, and Guidance Toolkit to help identify local needs more effectively and enable organisations to coordinate stronger, more comprehensive support for those facing food insecurity.

The take-home message for the audience was powerful: holistic wrap-around support for individuals must be at the core when developing food initiatives to address the rising food poverty.

With the number of people using food banks rising in Haringey, a new approach to tackling food poverty is needed more than ever.
