Celebrating Five Years of Community Well-Being Great Mental Health Day marked its fifth anniversary this week (30 January) with a vibrant community celebration at Tottenham Community Sports Centre, delivered by ABC Parents. ABC Parents, a co-delivered programme with the Bridge and Royal Free NHS Trust and Every Parent and Child, that supports parents by providing free first aid sessions and well-being support. The centre was buzzing, with hundreds of people coming together around mental well-being. Local organisations and statutory services were out in force, showcasing the wide range of mental wellbeing support available to residents of all ages across the borough. The Mayor of Haringey also spoke about the importance of looking after your mental well-being. It was great to catch up with the original founder of Great Mental Health Day, Chantelle, who shared how it began in Haringey and has since become a London-wide initiative. There was plenty to enjoy throughout the day, including mental well-being workshops, yoga and fitness sessions, and arts and crafts activities such as beading, t-shirt printing, and jewellery making. Navigate Your Mind delivered short, interactive therapeutic art demonstrations and there was a special performance by local dance group Undefined, which was created especially for Great Mental Health Day. The day closed with an energetic performance from Speaker Box. The day was a powerful reflection of the message of Great Mental Health Day: no one has to suffer mental health challenges alone. "Today was a beautiful reminder that mental health truly is for everyone. It was community, connection, creativity, and care all in one place." Manage Cookie Preferences
