15 Years of Dedicated Service After several years of dedicated service as our Chair of Trustees, Rachel Hughes has decided to step down. Instrumental in the founding of the Bridge Renewal Trust in 2009, Rachel has played a central role in the organisation’s growth and development, helping to shape the Bridge into the organisation it is today. We extend our deepest gratitude for her unwavering commitment, wisdom, and leadership over the years. Rachel’s impact will continue to be felt across our work and the communities we serve. We are delighted that Rachel will remain part of our Board as Vice Chair, and we look forward to continuing to benefit from her insight and support in this new capacity. Rachel shared: "It has been a privilege being Chair of the Bridge. I am very proud of how far we have come together - staff, volunteers, the community local people and partnerships. We have made a significant difference for individuals and in the culture of the borough. There is still a long way to go in tackling health inequalities. I believe, as does all the research, that being part of a community is at the heart of living a healthy life. I know that with Michelle as the Chair we are in a safe pair of hands and the Bridge will continue to bring people together." A message from the new chair, Michele Eastmond: "I would like to thank Rachel for her years of service, commitment and dedication to the Bridge, and I am very happy that she will remain on board as a continued source of support and fountain of knowledge. It is an honour to step into the role of Chair at this moment in the Bridge’s journey, and I look forward to progressing the work with the board, our team(s), and partners as we build on the strong foundations already in place and move confidently into the next chapter."
